Policy Overview
  • eCar were launched on 3rd April 2006 and provide revolutionary features for users, one of the most popular being that policyholders manage their policy entirely online.
  • You can pay for your policy by installments or all in one go - anyone from 17 to 75. You can get instant cover by using our online system and you can also enjoy free European use for the purpose of travelling only.

Vehicle Recovery
  • Depending on the level of cover you purchased, you can expect your vehicle recovered from the incident or home address. The vehicle may then be taken to an approved garage for repairs or valuation if it is a total loss.
  • Depending on the age of the vehicle you may be entitled to a brand new replacement car, or if it is beyond economical repair you will receive the full market value.
  • If you are involved in a non-fault accident then we may also be able to arrange a replacement car whilst yours is off the road.
  • The legal expenses policy you receive will also provide assistance if you needed to claim for any injuries sustained in the incident.

Homestart & Breakdown
  • All eCar Insurance policies provide homestart and breakdown assistance automatically on Standard and PAYG Comprehensive policies! On Standard Non-Comprehensive policies this can be added as an option.
  • You will be covered for emergency roadside repairs, homestart, recovery of your vehicle if it cannot be repaired and transportation to your onward destination if required.
  • The breakdown assistance policy is underwritten by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance who only use accredited operators vetted for their professionalism and compliance with quality standards.
  • Even legal expenses are covered by your policy - ensuring that you can recover your uninsured losses if you are involved in an accident that is not your fault.
